Overview

Steve has been playing music from a young age, starting out learning Guitar at the age of five with David Taylor, his Guitar Teacher. From there he progressed through his Trinity Rock School grades, attaining his Grade 8 at the age of 18, taking on Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar as well as Acoustic Guitar playing in many bands formed by his tutor at the local Towcester Rock Schools. In addition to his Guitar work Steve also started to learn to play the Flute, again progressing through the grades throughout his childhood. To accompany this Steve was involved with a number of Folk Music organisations playing Flute, Guitar and laterly bass Guitar in a number of Ceilidh bands.

During his early life Steve started to take an interest in Sound Engineering and worked the Sound Systems for Towcester Rock Schools as well as playing in numerous bands with the school. This has been something, alongside his music which Steve enjoys doing - "nothing better than making an awesome band sound even better".

In 2007 Steve achieved his BSc (Hons) in Music Technology with Management from Staffordshire University and continues to provide sound engineering solutions for local associations as well as for the Band he currently plays in - Alterego Ceilidh band.

Steve can often be found in acoustic sessions in the local area and also performing with both the band and sometimes Solo in venues around York and also at Folk Festivals across the country.
